Right leg for power

Turn over your right leg for power

In order to hit shots powerfully, it’s important for golfers to use their body weight effectively. This means getting their weight “behind” the ball on the backswing, so that they can shift their weight aggressively onto the front foot and build clubhead speed through impact. As you take the club back, try to turn your upper body so that at the top, the middle of your chest is directly over your right leg. You can tell if your are making this move correctly because you should feel pressure or tension in your right thigh and hip. You are now in a position to shift your weight back to the left as you simultaneously drive the club through the impact zone with your upper right side.
